November 1991, Agape Missionary Baptist Church was organized at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (Dallas, Texas) where Dr. R. M. Bell is the pastor. This ministry was birthed after many months of prayer and travail and Pastor Benton’s commitment to follow the will of God. Agape was organized with ten charter members. Pastor Benton was the founding pastor and remains the faithful shepherd of the flock today. Of the initial ten charter members, seven remain active and faithful in the fellowship today. The original purpose for founding the ministry was to become learners of Christ and to exemplify or live Christian lives. The first facilities were located at 1447 Acton (Duncanville, Texas). The facilities were relocated to our current site in June 1992.

God has birthed several ministries these past ten years. They include:

Health & Wellness Ministry

Music Ministry

In continuing in Godly growth – three sons of the fellowship have accepted their call into the ministry:

Rev. Paul Brightmon – October 1994

Rev. Terry Green – November 1994

Rev. James Thurman – November 1997

God has also given two ministers to Agape’s ministerial staff:

Rev. Davis Smith

Rev. Jeffrey Parker

The Fellowship continues to strive to fulfill its mission statement goals:

To call the unsaved to Christ

To call the saved to place their whole lives under the word of God

To support ministries at home and abroad, and

To edify the Body of Christ.
